Instructional Design Theories and Principles
A Flip Card Interaction
A Flip Card Interaction
Audience: Teachers who are transitioning to Instructional Design
Tools: Articulate Storyline, Eduflow
Responsibilities: Research, Script Writing, Visual Design, Storyboarding, Developing, LMS Admin
Time Spent: 1 hour
From March to June, 2022, I volunteered as an Instructional Designer and LMS admin in a group called "Teaching, A Path to Learning and Development". I dedicated one hour per week to this project. We created a course on Eduflow to help teachers transitioning to instructional designers fill knowledge and skill gaps. I worked with other team members to conduct a need analysis through survey data, planned the course outline, developed the course, and migrated to Eduflow LMS. The part I took responsibility for is a quick overview of the key Instructional Design modules, theories, and principles. This small interaction is created to be embedded in this part of the course.
I created this small interaction to give audiences a quick overview of some fundamental theories and principles that guide Instructional Designers in their work. I used the flip cards with short introductions of the theories and principles, and hyperlinks to select for deep learning. This meets the needs of users with different levels of prior knowledge and learning paces.
