Video Player Navigation
Graphics, Micro-Learning Video and Guide
This is a learning solution that is completed within a quick turnaround time. As part of our transition to a new learning management platform, we will enable a “Smart Players” function on our video training content. This function allows users to utilize a table of contents to select specific topics they want to learn. To help users understand this feature, I created a micro-learning video and a step-by-step graphic guide.
The goal is to quickly demonstrate the procedure without drawing too much attention. Users visit this new learning platform to access their desired content, not to learn how to use the system. Therefore, the video is limited to 30 seconds.
I used Adobe Illustrator to design the mouse cursor and video player mockup. Since this training will be launched across learning platforms for various company-owned brands, I customized the graphics by adjusting their colors to align with each brand's unique palette.
Next, I used Canva to create a 30-second video demonstrating how to use the table of contents function. This short tutorial will be included at the beginning of our video materials, providing users with a quick guide on navigating and selecting content.
When developing this video, an interesting discovery was Canva’s new AI music generator, which I used to create a 30-second background music track. This feature was both time-saving and easy to use.

For our existing video materials, instead of updating each one of them with the new how-to video, I compiled a simple step-by-step guide on PowerPoint, using the graphics I created. This guide can show users how to navigate the video player.
